Pronunciation

We incorporate aspects of phonics in our syllabus, based on the IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet)  to  hone students' pronunciation. Through vocal exercises and recitation practice, which target specific sounds, learners will improve their enunciation of phrases and learn to speak audibly and clearly.

Modulation & Vocal Power 

Through vocal training children will understand how to modulate their voice, articulate punctuation devices and correctly stressed syllables in words. Exercises will also focus on how to sustain vocal power through breath control and projection thus improving oral presentation on stage.

Literature​

The drama programme is inspired by popular fiction such as Roald Dahl or dramatic literature from play texts and musicals. Students will be exposed to a rich vocabulary 0f language and will learn to convey understanding of texts - content, subtext and context through body language, facial expression and vocal variety skills.

Theatre

Our syllabus involves a mixture of dramatic forms such as puppetry, physical theatre, musical theatre, as well as multi-media and animation to cater to different learning styles.  Learners who complete the drama  curriculum will have the confidence to interpret and respond imaginatively to dramatic literature  and master audience awareness skills.

Music

In our music programme, learners will understand how music may be used to underscore the mood or foreshadow events in the narrative of the text. Students will explore percussion instruments as well as sound effects to create atmosphere. ​Music is also used to guide learners' vocal variety skills as they vary their tone through an exploration of pitch, dynamic, speed of reading etc.

Dance

Through dance children will improve their expressions and coordination skill as they master  sequences in line with musical beats.  Dance forms such as contemporary dance, hip-hop and Latin dance maybe chosen  based on the style/ genre of text.

Dramatic Crafts

Craft workshops provide students with creative ways to develop characterisation and personalise their performance space, costume and stage sets.

Performance Space

In this phase of the programme students are permitted time to make or source props and costumes, create masks and striking visuals through make up.  Depending on the assessment criteria, some students may choose to contribute to the back stage area by designing lighting and stage effects.
